Festival
de La Unión 2009
pays tribute to Vicente Amigo
Niña Pastori, Rafael Amargo, Arcángel and Capullo de
Jerez also shape up the bill, which is to be held August 5th to 15th in
the Murcia-area town.

When he has just released his sixth album, ‘Paseo
de Gracia’,
Vicente Amigo receives a tribute at
Festival del Cante de las Minas 2009. And that happens over
twenty years after the Córdoba-born guitarist won the Bordón Minero
1988 in the contest of this festival which is held every summer in
La Unión (Murcia, Spain).
The lineup of its forty-ninth edition, which is to be
held at the old marketplace August 5th to 15th, is also highlighted by
the shows of Niña Pastori, Arcángel, Carlos Piñana, Capullo de Jerez,
Rafael Amargo, Argentina, Guillermo Cano and Mariana Cornejo.
They are joined by the winners of the contest’s past
edition - Huelva-born cantaora Rocío Márquez and Madrilenian bailaor
Alfonso Losa -, plus the final phase of the competition for cantaores,
bailaores and new guitarists this year, which premieres the award for
instrumentalists ‘El Filón’.
